As a Truck Loader, the primary responsibility is to assemble pallets with products for transportation on bulk and route trucks. Attention to detail is essential in accurately loading and unloading trucks while operating machinery like forklifts or electronic pallet jacks. Following instructions from electronic order systems or order sheets enables smooth workflow and efficient completion of tasks.
It is essential to ensure that shipments are accurate and comply with all relevant documentation during both loading and unloading processes. Additionally, maintaining a tidy and secure workspace, being adaptable to work in different weather conditions, and adjusting shift lengths as needed are all integral aspects of this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Truck Loading: The process of Truck Loading consists of moving full pallets of goods onto trailers, taking out any returned pallets, and loading bulk packages onto trucks.
- Raw Material Handling: Receive and store raw materials in specific warehouse locations following the unloading process.
- Pallet Building: Pick predetermined merchandise sets from the storage facility, pile and cover pallets with shrink-wrap, and place them onto trucks for shipping.
- Customer-Specific Loading: Adapting product loading strategies to align with salesperson requests for route truck shipments.
- Unloading: Offload products and pallets/plastic flats from delivery trucks.
- Physical Requirements: Lift boxes of goods weighing 20-45 lbs. multiple times during the course of a work shift. The role mandates ongoing standing, walking, bending, turning, crouching, stretching, and holding tasks.
Primary Job Accountabilities:
- Use power pallet jacks or forklifts to pick and load items as instructed on load sheets or through voice-pick systems.
- Label tickets as out of stock for items that are currently unavailable.
- Once the pallets are fully loaded, proceed to wrap them securely.
- Submit paperwork alongside orders for confirmation prior to initiating the loading process.
- Position the pallets accordingly and transfer them to the trucks once they are prepared for loading.
- Combine partial pallets and arrange jumbled pallets for better organization.
- Ensure that cleanliness regulations are met in the working environment.
- Guarantee frequent, trustworthy, and foreseeable attendance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Only individuals who have reached the age of 18 are allowed.
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on background in a warehouse atmosphere encompassing tasks such as selecting orders, storing products, setting up, and operating powered pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Competence in driving a forklift entails mastering essential tasks like forward and reverse movement, controlling the height of the boom, and skillfully maneuvering within compact spaces.
- Familiarity with operating racking systems and the procedures involved in loading and unloading pallets (maneuvering pallets onto and off racking systems and trucks).
- The act of working in unison, cooperating effectively, and resolving issues jointly is defined as teamwork experience.
